Matt Geary ’11 works at The Product Development Company®) (PTC) in Needham, MA as a sales representative and reseller support specialist. The company develops, markets and supports software for product development, focusing on applications for Computer Assisted Design (CAD), engineering and product life cycle management . PTC serves customers in the manufacturing, publishing, services, government and life sciences sectors. In 2010, it had annual revenues in 2010 in excess of $1 billion with over 5,000 full-time employees, and is listed in both the S&P Midcap 400 and the Russell 2000 index. Matt reports that ” I am really enjoying sales, and the technology space is extremely interesting and fast paced.”
Matt was part of a team whose business plan project, The Meadows, won the third place prize of $2,000 in the 2011 Saint Michael’s College Enterprise Plan Competition.
Michelle Poulin ’05, M’11 moved to Denver, Colorado in 2011. Following graduation with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2005, Michelle joined GE Healthcare in Burlington, VT. working on healthcare information technology. After earning her Master of Science in Administration , she moved to Denver, where she initially continued to work for GE Healthcare. In January 2011, Michelle joined the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) as a trainer for the EPIC electronic medical record implementation team.
UCH has invested almost $70 million to implement a new electronic medical record (EMR) system. To introduce this new technology, the hospital has had to combine twenty-seven different existing IT systems into one EMR platform. Michelle’s role in the project is teaching front desk staff, nurses and physicans how to use the new system. She reports that “… training hospital staff has been a rewarding and challenging experience as I’m also learning clinical workflows.” In June, 2011, Michelle was promoted to Principle Trainer for the rollout of EPIC software, which is being introduced in UCH’s Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute and the UCH Cancer Center.
Joshua Partlow ’99, CPA, was selected to attend the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (AICPA) annual Leadership Academy in Dunham, NH Oct. 2-5, 2011. Josh was part of a diverse group of CPAs attending the three-day program focused on engaging candidates in a self-examination of leadership, what that means and how that impacts their personal life, their career path, and the accounting global marketplace. The intensive program, now in its third year, is designed to develop the skills necessary to become the next generation of leaders in business, industry, government and the accounting profession. Upon graduation from the Leadership Academy, the AICPA will assign each attendee to either an AICPA volunteer committee or a state society volunteer committee in the participant’s home state.
Josh is a Partner in the Burlington, VT office of Johnson Lambert & Co. LLP (Johnson Lambert). He joined Johnson Lambert in 2002 after working in the Boston office of Arthur Andersen. Josh graduated from Saint Michael’s Magna Cum Laude in 1999. In January, 2010, he was appointed by Vermont’s Governor as one of five members of the Vermont Board of Public Accountancy.
